Agresso Supports Student Program for Youth Education and Career Enhancement Opportunities VICTORIA, B.C. (April 2, 2008) – Agresso, the ERP market's definition of agility, is proud to announce that its student intern earned both national and provincial co-op student of the year awards in Canada and British Columbia. Dual awards were earned by Kevin Ginley, who has been selected as the 2007 Canadian Association of Co-operative Education’s (CAFCE) Co-op Student of the Year award as well as winning the annual Association for Co-operative Education BC/Yukon (ACE) Student of the Year award. Ginley attends Camosun College, located in Victoria, and is a student in the Applied Communication Program. Working at Agresso North America, Ginley was able to gain valuable real-world experience as part of the IT community in Victoria and learn about the importance of good vendor-customer relationships. "Since I had no prior experience with the worlds of IT or business, working at Agresso was a "sink-or-swim" scenario for me,” said Ginley. “I saw first-hand that the relationship between an IT provider like Agresso and its clients is a complex and involved one, from diagnosing what software is appropriate for the client to maintaining that system over time after implementation." Agresso North America encourages student involvement with technology and hopes to replicate the process and success of interns like Kevin that will work at the company in the future. “We are glad that Kevin was able to excel at Agresso while also contributing to important work at the company for our customers,” said Shelley Zapp, President of Agresso North America. “We are proud to be part of intern programs that help students sharpen their relevant skills while also transitioning them into the business world.” During his tenure at Agresso North America, Kevin supported the sales and marketing departments contributing to numerous graphic design projects. He was instrumental in helping to meet deadlines and deliver on design projects and materials key to sales and marketing efforts. He was brought on for a minimum work term, but was extended as he proved his value to Agresso. Agresso North America also received an award from Camosun College for contributing to the success of Ginley and for their continued support of the co-op program at Camosun.
