SURVEY IDENTIFIES ERP USERS FEEL "TRAPPED"; WANT AN ALTERNATIVE FOCUSED ON POST-IMPLEMENTATION AGILITY

VICTORIA, B.C. (March 20, 2007) – A survey aimed at determining the impact of enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions on an organization’s ability to make change was conducted by Technology Evaluation Center (TEC) in the Fall of 2006. TEC offers enterprise software purchasers impartial and up to date information on software vendors and product capabilities.

The survey asked the question, "How satisfied are you with your current ERP or enterprise applications?" Nearly 900 users replied to the survey. Here are some of the key findings:

  • 70% feel trapped in a never-ending cycle of need-spend-need-spend between their organization and their ERP Providers.
  • 71.83% said their organization continues to invest in enhancements, upgrades and auxiliary applications in order to pull the information they need from their ERP system.
  • Nearly 68% - 69% felt they had to stop to consider the operational and financial impact of re-architecting/adjusting their enterprise application before making a strategic business decision.

The survey revealed an irrefutable need for a solution that can provide businesses marked by significant, ongoing change with post-implementation agility to avoid expensive incremental upgrades or replacements as their needs evolve. Predrag Jakovljevic, TEC’s principal analyst for enterprise applications, acknowledged Agresso as a company that has been capitalizing on this demand.

"Agresso focuses on post-implementation agility – meaning that the solution we implement can support ongoing business change without the ongoing IT costs. That doesn’t seem to be remarkable to us, but clearly non-Agresso customers are having a very different experience,"  said Shelley Zapp, president, Agresso – North America.
