Agresso wins easyJet contract

easyJet's Group Financial Controller Robert Palmer says Agresso Business World will provide the ideal platform for easyJet to implement best in class financial and procurement processes that will support the airline during its next stage of European growth.

"Our aim is to build an efficient best in class finance and procurement system in a high growth environment, while keeping costs low. We feel Agresso Business World will contribute significantly to this aim, handling our complex and voluminous transactions efficiently and providing a robust control environment.

“The system met all the exacting challenges that we set during our evaluation process and we are confident it will be able to meet our transaction processing and management information needs as we grow, while also providing a low cost value for money solution."

easyJet will implement Agresso Business World's business information management, financial and procurement modules with the overall system going live next financial year (2007/8).

Founded in 1995, easyJet continues to experience rapid growth, and now flies more than 35 million passengers a year across Europe, with 130 aircraft located at bases in six countries. It is growing at 15% a year. The airline anticipates that Agresso Business World will help it:

  • Provide an overall platform for efficient auditable transaction processing, enabling its finance function to reduce the time incurred in transaction processing and report production and thereby increase the proportion of time spent adding value to the business
  • Re-engineer a number of manual and excel based processes, achieving significant efficiencies whilst obtaining increased reliability and control
  • Overhaul its chart of accounts, improving business support and reducing analysis and transaction costs
  • Strengthen procurement processes, providing relevant information in a tighter control environment and enabling a drive for further cost reductions

Agresso already has a presence in the transport sector, with contracts with Monarch Airlines, London United Busways, Cenargo, and Merchant Ferries. It won the easyJet contract in the face of stiff competition from Coda and SAP.
